You’ve tied up with your friends who go cycling every alternate day and want to incorporate cycling into your daily routine? The first day of your new hobby is fast approaching but there is only one problem. You don’t know what’s in style. You wouldn’t want to be the odd one out among your new friends now would you? It isn’t like the old days when you could blame your crappy bike on your parent’s choice. What do you do? The first thing you need to understand is when you are riding as an adult; people don’t really care about looks as much as they do about performance. This means that as far as bikes are concerned, you need to worry more about the type of bike you have than the clothes you will wear or what accessories to buy. If you want to buy a trendy bike then here are some important things to consider:

1. The weight of your bike is going to be very important. Remember, wherever your bike can’t take you, you will be the one carrying your bike. So if you buy a bike that is too heavy, you will definitely be cursing yourself when carrying it across a muddy path. Plus, a lighter bike can be maneuvered easily and won’t require too much effort on your part.

2. You will also need to consider the strength and weight of the parts used on your bike. All the parts on your bike need to be of top quality as using sub standard parts will only result in additional problems which will make your life a lot harder, especially if they occur when you are on a mountain. Newer parts are significantly lighter but there is no way they will be able to handle an old steel frame. Always get parts that match your bike.

3. Having the right bike accessories is just as important as taking care of your bike. Just wait till you ride up a steep hill and are craving a sip of water. Wouldn’t it be so much easier if water was readily available for you to drink while riding instead of stopping, opening your bag, having a sip, putting it back, closing your bag and then moving again?

4. And lastly, you need to carry extra tubes, chains, etc. when going on long biking trips just in case something goes wrong. You wouldn’t want to have to carry your bike back down the mountain because it got spoilt half way through now would you?
